A cleaner future is a better future.
The signs are clear. We need to reduce our carbon footprint, get off fossil fuels, and find more sustainable ways to prosper. In the General Assembly, I have a responsibility to protect my fellow Virginians. I know the danger that ecological collapse and unchecked emissions poses to our loved ones, our communities, and our country. We’ve begun the journey towards 100% renewable energy by 2050 with the Virginia Clean Economy Act, which I chief co-patronned during the 2020 legislative session. However, climate change is the greatest national security threat facing our country, and I know that continued urgent action is imperative.

HB 1526 Electric utility regulation; environmental goals
This bill establishes a schedule by which Dominion Energy Virginia and American Electric Power are required to retire carbon-based electric generating units located in Virginia and requires them to create solar or wind generating capacity.
